The New Year.
I don’t know about you, but it kind of bothers me when people say:
“Fuck (insert year here)!”
”(Insert year here) is going to (insert positive adjective)!!!)”
Any year can suck, but it is unlikely that you took away anything positive from it. Likewise, a year can be fantastic and still have its low points.

No plans for tonight.
Just like I had no plans for Christmas.
I am rather used to not doing anything for holidays, so I guess I came to Peace Corps prepared for such occasions. The nice news is that I am going to L’viv for a few days next week which will be my first trip to Western Ukraine. I am pretty excited about this trip.

Ukrainian Ovens
Ukrainian ovens are an interesting species in the world of kitchen appliances, so I have pretty much avoided using mine since I got to site. Mine is a gas oven that I need to light by sticking my hand and forearm into it with a lit match. Today I have been in Kyiv due to my lungs deciding they hate me. Luckily, I am doing a bit better and have been put on a steroid inhaler.
